Spotlight on Community Care: Willing Helpers Free Clinic

If you live in Newton, Rockdale, or DeKalb County, you probably know how tough it can be to find affordable medical care—especially if you don’t have insurance. That’s where Willing Helpers Free Clinic steps in. Since 2006, this incredible nonprofit has been a safety net for neighbors throughout our area, welcoming anyone in need with open arms and expert care.

Willing Helpers Free Clinic isn’t just a place to see a doctor. It’s a caring community hub—offering everything from free medical visits and bloodwork to prescription medications, nutritional counseling, mental health support, and even prayer and discipleship for anyone who asks. Their mission is simple: to make sure no uninsured resident of Newton, Rockdale, or DeKalb County has to go without the care they deserve.

The impact is real and lasting. Last year alone, Willing Helpers delivered over 4,000 medical visits, provided $3.5 million in essential care, filled $1.8 million in prescriptions, and saved our local hospitals more than a million dollars in uncompensated care. Every bit of this is made possible by the generosity of local donors and the dedication of volunteers who believe that healthcare should be for everyone.

First and foremost, thank God for air conditioning! It may be one of the greatest modern conveniences we sometimes take for granted. Let's all be thankful for the comfort it provides during these hot summer days. 💧 Stay Hydrated Please remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day. As beauty professionals, it's easy to get busy and forget to take care of ourselves. Keep a water bottle nearby and sip often—you'll feel better, have more energy, and stay at your best for every client. 🥤 Create a Great Client Experience Little touches make a big difference. Consider offering your clients something cool to drink when they arrive, such as: Chilled bottled water Sparkling water Iced tea Lemon water A small refreshing beverage A simple gesture like this creates a memorable experience and shows your clients how much you appreciate them. 📋 Business License Reminder If you have not yet obtained your City of Covington (or applicable local municipality) business license , please make this a priority.
